While being in Phase 2 allows us to head out, let’s be real, staying home is clearly the safer option.
While we are now given the opportunity to hit the streets and meet our friends (in groups of no more than 5 of course!), many of us are still choosing to stay home and avoid the crowds – #StayHomeStaySafe! Where possible, companies are still operating on a work-from-home basis to help minimise the spread of COVID-19. With more time spent at home, are you spending more time pampering your skin, or becoming lazy with your skincare routine?

We share some tips on how to tweak your skincare routine to make the most of your stay-home plans!
1) Lesser or no makeup =/= no need facial cleansing ?
Staying home and not having to meet people means we can choose to let our skin remain makeup-free and in its natural state. This, however, doesn’t mean we should skip our daily cleansing routine! Our skin secretes sebum (oil) which can clog our pores and lead to a slew of breakouts.

Always cleanse your skin in the morning when you wake up, and again in the evening before you sleep. This will ensure that your skin is primed to absorb the skincare products you’ll be putting onto your skin for the day (a protective routine) and for the night (a restorative routine).
For a day cleanser, try ést.lab’s ActivCalm Gentle Hydrating Cleansing Mousse which is a gentle foaming cleanser that will not strip your skin of its natural oils.

In the evening, the VitaLift A+ Skin Revive Cleansing Milk can help to remove impurities and dirt, which accumulate on your skin throughout the day, while providing your skin with moisturising and anti-ageing benefits.

2) Hydrate your skin well ?
Hydrating your skin is important! And now with more time on your hands, this is something you should be focusing on in your skincare routine, especially if you’re working in an air-conditioned environment.

ést.lab’s ActivCalm Ultra-Hyalusol Serum packs a punch with 3 types of hyaluronic acid, to provide your skin with added hydration and help to seal in the water content in your skin for bouncy, supple-looking skin all day!

As the saying goes, you are what you eat, so drinking more water and incorporating fruits and vegetables rich in water content can all help to hydrate your body inside out. Basically, do all you can to stay hydrated!
3) SPF is still a must ?
Staying indoors doesn’t mean staying away from the harmful effects of UVA and UVB rays. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen every morning to protect your skin! UVA rays can get to us from indirect sunlight coming in through the window and is a huge cause of photo-ageing, which leads to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. A lack of sun protection can also cause your skin to fall prey to pigmentation!

Stay protected from the sun with the SunShield Aqua SPF50***, a lightweight, non-comedogenic sunscreen which is suitable for use for all skin types, even those with sensitive skin.

4) Mask any time of the day ??♀️
The beauty of being home all-day means we can work around our schedule! That is to say, we need not wait till we’re home from the office to mask only in the evenings! YAY to flexible time arrangements ?

Your skin’s feeling parched when you wake up from a night of sleeping in an air-conditioned room? Slap on a hydrating mask after breakfast to provide your skin with added moisture for supple skin throughout the day!
Sudden breakout in the day? Slather on a clay mask such as the ést.lab PurClear Detoxifying Mask to soothe inflammation and draw out impurities for a clear, blemish-free skin while replying your emails!

Your bosses will be none the wiser ?, that is unless of course, you have a video conference to attend.
Ace your stay-home skincare routine with the above tips, and achieve amazing skin your friends will be envious of when you finally meet them!
In Good Hands,
Estetica
