With this season of Asia’s Next Top Model wrapped up, (congratulations to Dana Slosar – who’s also the brand ambassador of ést.lab, on winning the title), let’s check out some model approved skincare tips to keep your skin glowing and runway ready!
Karlie Kloss: “I get breakouts when I wear makeup to exercise, so I clean my face before and after I work out.”
We’ve said this before, and we’ll say it again! Never, wear makeup to a workout, because it clogs your pores – 100%! As you get your workout in, your body heats up, and your sweat glands open up. Foundation, blusher, highlighter etc. that’s sitting on your skin’s surface will block your sweat pores, clogging it all up like a choked pipe! So heed Karlie Kloss’s advice and wear no makeup to a workout!
Gigi Hadid: “I put toothpaste on pimples to dry them out.”
Pimples are definitely ardent fans of Murphy’s Law – always appearing just before you need to attend an important date/event/party. You wouldn’t want your red and swollen zit to overshadow your presence at the event, but you don’t want to be squeezing your pimple and risk leaving a mark either. Try Gigi Hadid’s go-to hack, where she applies a smidgen of toothpaste on the pimple overnight to dry it out.
Kate Moss: “If I wake up looking tired and puffy, I fill a sink with ice and cucumber and submerge my face.”
Some nights, we may have a little problem restraining ourselves from finishing a whole bag of chips while binge-watching Netflix or the latest K-drama, or our stomach insists on having a bowl of steaming hot instant noodles as comfort food. However, this sodium indulgence might result in water retention and cause your face to be puffed up the very next day! To counteract any morning-after puffiness, Kate Moss swears by this trick: submerge your face into a tub filled with ice and cucumber!

Kendall Jenner: “I’ve always been super OCD about washing my face—and that’s even before I started modeling. But it’s definitely enhanced now because I wear so much makeup all the time. I wash my face at least two or three times a day.”
The most important thing at the end of the day, is to really just remove all that makeup, make sure to cleanse your skin really well, and moisturise, moisturise, moisturise! We can’t emphasise how important it is to keep your skin cleansed and moisturised. Take Kendall Jenner’s advice, even if you won’t take ours, because this, is literally a game changer to having clear, smooth skin.
Adriana Lima: “Drink tons of water for glowing and hydrated skin.”
There really is nothing else to say other than drink up! Hydrating yourself with enough water is not only good for your body by helping to flush out toxins, but it’s also great for your skin! Not only does it keep your skin more plump and supple, it also gives you a clearer complexion!
Dana Slosar: “A good skincare routine is incredibly important because there is only so much makeup can do/hide.”
We can’t agree more with Dana, newly crowned winner of Asia’s Next Top Model (AsNTM) Cycle 6. As she has sensitive skin, Dana keeps her skincare routine simple – cleanse, tone, moisturise and sunscreen. A serum every other day, and a mask once or twice a week to give her skin a little boost. (Discover her skincare regime & AsNTM experience here). By understanding your skin type, you too can achieve a good skincare routine, that will give you healthy, glowing skin!
With all these beauty tips in your hands now, is there really any reason you shouldn’t be red-carpet ready? Go forth, and dominate your runway today!
In good hands,
