Say hello to this new skincare trend: skinimalism!
It’s the year 2020, and sustainability in our purchases has been a priority for many, which naturally translates into minimising our purchases, and the things we use. This has also spread into the reduction of excessive consumption of skincare and beauty purchases, and gone are the laborious, multi-steps that are required to cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise our skin.

Instead, hybrid skincare products that fulfil more than one purpose have taken over and helped to declutter our beauty shelves. From the excessive 10-step skincare routine which used to come highly recommended, we now focus on just using 2-3 key multi-tasking products to complete our skincare routine.

Just what exactly is skinimalism, you may ask. The term skinimalism is made up of an amalgamation of two words, skincare and minimalism, to mean a simplified, minimalistic skincare routine. Simply put, it means “skip-care”, where we use products which double up on their functions and provide multiple benefits in just one bottle!
How does a skincare diet work?
Rather than piling your skin with a full suite of products ranging from a cleanser, exfoliator, toner, serum, moisturiser and a sunscreen, the art of skip-care is to introduce products, which essentially multi-task. This means finding one product, to replace the use of up to 2-3 products in just one use.

Not only does this streamlines your skincare routine, this also ties in with the ever-growing popularity of being a sustainable consumer by making conscious purchases, and making full use out of each item purchased to minimise waste.
What products should I use?
1) Remove makeup, cleanse & exfoliate all at once
Introduce a cleanser which doubles up as a makeup remover, and contains ingredients which help to exfoliate the skin to streamline your cleansing process. The ActivCalm Gentle Cleansing Milk works to remove even waterproof makeup, and also contains glycolic acid (AHA) which is a chemical exfoliant to rid your complexion of impurities and makeup whilst also sloughing off any dead skin. It also has hydrating properties to keep your skin well moisturised and supple, and its gentle formula makes it suitable for sensitive skin users too!

2) Prime and hydrate your skin
Try introducing an essence into your skincare routine! Not only does an essence provide the same functions as a toner to prime your skin, it is also richer, and provides added benefits to your skin. The VitaLift Skin Revive Lotion Essence is a deeply hydrating and brightening antioxidant skin booster to deliver instant moisture and skin-plumping benefits for supple, youthful-looking skin.

3) (AM Use) Tinted Moisturiser with SPF Protection
Complete your daily morning skincare routine by finishing off with the SunShield SPF50 which triples as a sunscreen, moisturiser and a skin tint! This bestselling sunscreen features multi-benefits to provide your skin with extra hydration with its hyaluronic acid content, whilst protecting your skin from the perils of blue light with the Marigold Plant Extract. More than just that, the SPF50*** offers protection against both UVA and UVB damage, and the Vitamin C content also helps to suppress melanin production and prevents hyper-pigmentation! To top it all off, the SunShield also comes with a skin-colour adaptive function to prevent your sunscreen from leaving an ashy-cast, and providing you with a sheer, even coverage for a my skin but better look!

4) (PM Use) Protect, moisturise and prevent ageing
Round up your evening skincare routine with a moisturiser that not only keeps your skin well hydrated, but also offers your skin protection with the VitaLift A+ Antioxidant OPC Cream! The antioxidants from the grape seed extract helps to protect your skin from free radical damage, which not only aids in anti-ageing, but also improves cellular renewal in the skin to keep your skin supple and youthful looking!
